General African Troops
The following troop types are “generic” African troops. Almost every of the following army list can use them. They are not always troops in terms of army selection. For the European led Expedition a Native Musketman is quite normal, while the Native Musketman certainly qualifies for Elite in the list for Native African Farmers. In all the following lists some units are marked as regular troops while others are irregular troops. See SuperSystem Colonial. If a unit is not marked as regular or irregular use the normal SuperSystem rules.

Warriors from traditional African societies, armed with firearms which were generally old-fashioned and badly maintained. These weapons had been supplied in very large numbers over the preceding centuries to native agents of the ivory and slave trade. They are seldom used with any great skill. In warfare the noise they made was often considered as important as any actual dam-age they might do.

The bow was less commonly used in warfare in the 19th century than it has been formerly. This was at least partly due to the prestige which had come to be attached to firearms, although in fact skilled archers were often more effective than their compatriots equipped with muskets which they have not been trained to use properly.
Number: The unit consists of 10 to 15 Native Archer. Weapons: Bow Options: + 2 pts for each additional model
