BeliefsThe Black Griffons are loyal servants of the holy Emperor of Mankind. They are however not the fanatical zealots their Brother Marines, the Black Templars are. All their experiences in the last millennia have tempered their emotions. They also share the belief of the Black Templars that all heretics, mutants, psykers, aliens or other threats to HIS divine rule has to be exterminated, only that the way they are reaching these goals are more analytic and cold. In operations when the Black Griffons operate under their own insignia they are deployed in extreme small and specialised units. The typical Black Griffon unit consists of two Power Armour wearing Space Marines carrying Bolters. Both Marines are fully equipped with every sensory and scanning device of the Astardes and the trademark tactical Spirit Up-Link of the chapter. Another Marine is wearing Scout Armour and a Sniper rifle for long range suppression fire. The forth Marine is equipped with a Heavy Bolter with suspensors for mid range suppression fire. The whole strike unit is usually transported and deployed by the Land Speeder Thunderstroke.
